Hi, I'm Purusha, the girl behind My Angel's Heartbeat Bear

It was the summer of 1999 and I had just finished my first year of ultrasound school. My sister was pregnant and expecting her first son. We were all very excited. She had picked out his name, started on his room, and we were planning her baby shower. Then in an instant life changed. My sister experienced PPROM (Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes) at 23 weeks and was placed on bed rest in the hospital for the duration of her pregnancy. We were shocked, scared, confused, and had a lot to learn about this new diagnosis. Her labor held out for 4 weeks giving the baby time to grow and increasing his chances of survival. On July 27th, 1999, at just 27 weeks, my nephew entered the world weighing 2.7 lbs. His life with us was short. We enjoyed 27 days with his beautiful soul before he passed away and was buried on the 27th of August. Since then, I’ve always cherished the number 27.

This experience was so tragic to us. As I moved forward with my life, and started My Baby’s Heartbeat Bear, I knew one day I would find a way to support families with similar stories. Since then we’ve created our Angel Baby website for families of loss to have a safe place to shop our products. We’ve lovingly donated many Heartbeat Animals to Hospitals, Ultrasound Studios, and organizations that work to support families through these difficult times. I am honored to be able to give back to these families and share a little comfort and love with them.

I’d like to dedicate this website to my sweet nephew, Dylan James Farrow. Your wings were ready, my heart was not. Until we meet again...
